The Institute’s Head of Policy and Research David Greatorex warns that Liam McArthur’s assisted suicide Bill would foster a culture of despair in Scotland. Under the proposals, the choice to die, he argued, would very quickly become a duty to die for the vulnerable. Mr Greatorex called for true compassion to be shown to the terminally ill, and for palliative care to be made available to all in need.
