Christian B&B owners sued by homosexual couple

Peter and Hazelmary Bull, owners of the Chymorvah guesthouse in Cornwall, are being sued by Steven Preddy and Martyn Hall because the guesthouse has a policy of restricting double bed accommodation to married couples. The guesthouse is also Mr and Mrs Bulls’ home. The trial starts on Monday 13 December 2010 and is scheduled to run for two days. The case may determine whether Christians may lawfully operate a B&B that restricts double bed accommodation to married couples.

225 years ago today, Newton urges Wilberforce to stay in politics

On this day in history, 7 December 1785, John Newton (writer of Amazing Grace) told William Wilberforce (slavery abolitionist) to remain an MP. Others had been urging the newly converted Wilberforce to leave public life. He didn’t. Instead he went on to abolish slavery in Britain and end the slave trade throughout the British Empire, plus much more.
