Transgender activist India Willoughby has attacked those who uphold the reality of biological sex after being nominated as a 2023 ‘Woman of the Year’.
Writing in Scottish newspaper The Herald ahead of the award ceremony in London, the transsexual poured scorn on what he branded “the anti-trans movement”.
Willoughby, a man who lives as a woman, was controversially numbered among more than 400 “outstanding women” chosen by the award panel to attend the event.
Unsubstantiated
Willoughby claimed that the nomination would infuriate ‘Terfs’ and “all other forms of life that have grown like bacteria”.
The former Big Brother contestant made a series of unsubstantiated claims including that the British media is operating an “unofficial ‘trans ban’” and “the UK trans community is treated like the IRA”.
Willoughby contested the idea that “kids and adults are being rushed by the NHS into sex-change operations” and said gender critics had “hijacked” the Equalities and Human Rights Commission.
The activist also stated that “trans folk” have science “on our side” and “There is no set biological criteria for being a woman. Or indeed female.”
‘Insult to women’
Homosexual publication Attitude recently named Dylan Mulvaney – another man who lives as a woman – as its ‘Woman of the Year’.
Women’s rights campaigner Maya Forstater described the award as “an insult to women” for pronouncing “that no woman has achieved anything more significant this year through their work than a man putting on a dress and having cosmetic surgery”.
TikTok influencer Mulvaney sparked outrage earlier this year after partnering with Nike to promote the brand’s clothing range for women.
