A lesbian mother in the US who pushed her four-year-old son to live as if he were a girl said it felt like “leaving a cult” when she realised her mistake.
Speaking to the popular Triggernometry podcast, Rose explained that she and her same-sex partner led her four-year-old son to become gender-confused because he seemed ‘different’, such as gravitating towards women and exhibiting autistic traits.
She did not tell either her four or three-year-old sons they were boys, but used male pronouns, and became concerned when her youngest son copied his brother in asking to be called a girl.
‘My fault’
Rose said: “What I realised in those two plus years of anguish was that I had led my child into it, and therefore I must lead him out of it, it is my responsibility.”
When she told her eldest son the reality that boys cannot become girls, he said: “Mama this is your fault – you changed my name”. She reflected: “So imagine had we not realised our mistake and go 10, 20 years into the future, imagine that Mama this was your fault then.”
it is my responsibility
Rose explained that gender ideology attempts to prevent you from “unravelling it or putting pieces together” to explore the reasons behind gender confusion. She said that even when she was a “true believer” she would question if treating her son as if he was a girl was right, before dismissing the doubts as ‘transphobic’.
Both of her sons are now living as boys and described as “thriving” and “healing”.
Profound impact
Last month, a whistleblower revealed that children are being permanently damaged by the way the American medical system is treating gender confusion.
Jamie Reed was responsible for patient intake and oversight at the Washington University Transgender Center at St Louis Children’s Hospital.
Reed, who describes herself as a “queer woman” and “married to a transman”, said what is happening to scores of children as “morally and medically appalling”.
She recalled many encounters showing “how little these young people understood the profound impacts changing gender would have on their bodies and minds”.
