The family of Elianne Andam are leaning on God for comfort in the wake of their daughter’s “senseless” death.
Elianne, 15, was fatally stabbed while trying to prevent an altercation between a friend and a 17-year-old boy. She died at the scene.
The family described her as “a beautiful person, inside and out, who loved Jesus”.
‘She loved Jesus’
In a statement, they said: “We as a family are struggling to comprehend this painful tragedy that has happened to our beautiful daughter and beloved sister Elianne. Our hearts are broken and we are overwhelmed by sorrow and grief. Our faith in the Lord is strengthening us.
“We would like to express our gratitude to those who have taken the time to send us thoughtful and compassionate messages and prayers.”
Our faith in the Lord is strengthening us.
“Elianne was a beautiful person, inside and out, who loved Jesus. She was intelligent, thoughtful, kind and had a bright future ahead of her. It is our request that you keep our cherished daughter, Elianne and our family in your thoughts and prayers.”
Healing and restoration
Bishop Mark Nicholson, of ACTS Christian Church in Croydon, led a prayer for the family, asking God to comfort, heal and restore them.
He also prayed for the suspect and his family, and asked for prayer for the paramedics who were unable to save Elianne.
