A Christian couple who have been married for 76 years have spoken of the importance of their faith during their marriage.
Allan and Margaret Little, from Nashville, Tennessee, first met at church when they were just seven years old.
They got married in 1939 and now, having both recently celebrated their 100th birthdays, can look back on a lifetime of marriage and God’s ‘rich blessings’.
Richly blessed
Commenting on her marriage to Allan, Margaret said: “Allan and I lived our lives with mutual love and respect for each other; and he has always been a Godly man”.
Margaret, who celebrated her 100th birthday in August, told the Huffington Post: “I am surprised I lived this long”.
She attributed her long life to “lots of good care” and the fact that God has “just richly blessed me”.
Love
Asked about the key to their successful marriage, Allan told Good Morning America: “I married the right woman”.

Margaret, more romantically, explained: “In one word, love”.
“We did not fuss. We also respected each other.”
Tragedy
The couple had three children together but tragically their two boys died at a very young age. Their daughter had special needs and died at the age of 46.
Through this hardship, the couple carried on, thanks to their strong faith in Christ.
Allan was a leader for many years at church – which has remained a central part of their lives and relationship together.
