A six-year-old boy from Texas is being raised as a girl by his mother, with the backing of US social services.
When James lives with his mother, Anne Georgulas, he lives as ‘Luna’, and is given girls’ clothing, shoes and makeup to wear.
But when he lives with his father, Jeffrey Younger, who allows James to choose, he lives as a boy.
Court restraints
Mr Younger is already prevented by a court order from affirming James as a boy, including talking to him about the Christian teaching on gender and sexuality.
He was even reported to Texas Child Protective Services for giving James a haircut, and so is no longer permitted to cut his child’s hair.
Georgulas is also accusing Younger of child abuse for not affirming their son as a girl. She also wants to terminate his parental rights and force him to pay for transgender-affirming therapy and treatments.
‘Stinging rebuke’
James was diagnosed with gender dysphoria after his mother took him to see a gender-transition therapist. Critics say it is a clear misdiagnosis.
Walt Heyer, a former transsexual who helps people dealing with trans regret, said: “James exhibits no desire to be ‘Luna’ the girl except when he is with his mother.
“The boy’s behaviour offers a stinging rebuke of the diagnosis of gender dysphoria.”
He explained that the disparity in behaviour when living with each parent should cause a therapist to nullify the diagnosis and cease any moves towards transitioning, but said in James’s case, “this hasn’t happened”.
Boy
Michelle Cretella, Executive Director of the American College of Pediatricians, said: “James clearly does not have gender dysphoria.
“According to the pro-transgender paediatricians themselves, a child is allegedly ‘trans’ if he consistently and persistently insists he is a girl.
“Well, when James is away from his mother, he consistently and persistently insists that he is a boy.”
