The BBC is ignoring biological sex in its treatment of women, a senior insider has told The Daily Telegraph.
The source complained that “the BBC is still following ‘Stonewall law’ in failing to respect sex as a protected characteristic”.
The newspaper reported that BBC staff have protested internally about the change.
Internal protest
The Corporation’s 50:50 project webpage directs content-makers to monitor the “gender identity” of their contributors and not the “sex registered at birth”.
According to the insider: “The BBC has now ‘disappeared’ women as a sex class and instead monitors ‘gender identity’.”
Another member of staff reminded bosses that the “trans women are women” stance pushed by trans activist groups “is not shared by the majority of licence fee payers”.
Trans ideology
Last month, BBC Radio 4 was forced to apologise after interviewing a transgender fighter who boasted on Twitter about knocking women out.
In June, programmes on Radio 2 and Radio 4 hosted discussions about women’s sports with contributors from men who live as women – but no actual women.
The Daily Telegraph has previously revealed that BBC Radio staff underwent training from Global Butterflies which taught them: “People can self-identify themselves in over 150 ways, and increasing!”
The transgender lobby group also warned staff that “he/she” pronouns can create “discomfort, stress and anxiety” for gender non-conforming people.
