‘Don’t close my Sunday School!’

The Government planned to give Ofsted legal power to investigate any setting in England that provides instruction to children for more than 6 to 8 hours in any week. Sunday schools, church youth groups and holiday Bible clubs would be monitored for their adherence to ‘British values’. We said the state has no authority to regulate church teaching.
The plans were dropped in 2018.
